I have learnt from this unit that productive skills include speaking and writing. Writing is the most neglected skill in the TEFL world as many teachers do not devote classroom hours to it. Writing tasks are usually relegated to homework, but mostly such tasks are not done and therefore this skill is poorly developed. Writing is more difficult skill in comparison with speaking because it requires a greater degree of accuracy. First of all the teacher must cerate in the students the need and desire to communicate. Teacher can use different speaking activities in the classromm such as: controlled activities (study phase), guided activities (study or activate phase) or creative communication (activate phase). To improve students' writing, the teacher should develop in students the following subskills: handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation because these subskills are not similar in different languages and sometimes it is really difficult for students to understand it.
