This unit is a follow up on the previous unit (receptive skills) and is about the productive skills: speaking and writing. Both very different skills but with one thing in common: communication. Writing activities are usually a bit less popular because it increases quiet time, something we don't want. That's why I think those are good homework assignments. I've learned about the difference between accuracy and fluency. Accuracy meaning a more controlled way of learning, making sure students use the right language, whereas fluency based activities are all about the students talking as much as possible, let them be creative and experiment the language freely. Writing can be a very difficult skill to learn for foreign students. Especially to those who's native language is completely different from the English language. I think it takes a lot of persistence and patience to learn how to write properly, but it's like riding a bicycle: once you know, you'll never forget!
