I have utilized many different approaches in my previous teachings, and in many ways ESA encompasses it all. It is seemingly a very clear and effective way to get the students to use English in situations that are both practical and engaging. I believe that students learn best when they're having fun, and these activities outlined are fun for all levels (from crafting basic stories to debating issues). Once I am placed in my classroom and have a feel for who they are and what they know (which will be discovered through elicitation), I now know how to outline my lessons thanks to this ESA approach. As for giving feedback, this is something that I believe is very intuitive. It's good to know certain rules (like don't correct during the \"Engage\" stage), but correcting students varies in effectiveness based on the student and the overall dynamic of the class. For me, I tend to praise more than I do correct, so it is good to know this strategy is on the right path.
