This unit covered more grammar with modals, phrasal verbs and the passive vs. active voice. I understood the majority of what was being presented, though the phrasal verbs confused me a little with their differences in each one. If I, as a native English speaker, have confusion with some of the grammar, then it must be more difficult for non-native speakers to grasp the language. This makes it very important to learn grammar so that it can be easily explained to students without causing so much confusion with students.When teaching a new lesson, it may include new vocabulary, grammar, functions and other aspects, ESL teachers are supposed to know which part is focused on when teaching the new lessons. Based on the previous units, ESA methods can be directly applied when introducing new lessons. It is a must for ESL teachers to know the criteria of using materials before teaching. Once we have adopted the appropriate method or technique while teaching, students will be able to learn the new lessons in an effective and manageable way.
