In this unit, I learnt a lot about how the teaching has to consider the background, level and personality of a student and how classroom dynamics, while based on the different type of students, can be controlled by the teacher and his or her role (whether to promote as much student to student talk time as possible and balancing that with an intimate approach where opinion and discussion is free.) It is very interesting to look at gestures and voice can establish control for the teacher (especially when disciplining or getting simple instructions across.)As an inexperienced teacher, I feel that a more structured lesson plan is necessary to properly do my job. I have some anxiety that lessons could become too teacher centric, so I'll need to take care to plan Student Talking and encourage discussion and eliciting thought provoking questions and responses. When it comes to original introductions of parts of speech and tenses, I do feel that it is appropriate to have more teacher dominated talking time for the introductory lessons, and that speaking time should be ceded to students in the following lessons.
