This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Overall from Unit 15 I learned the importance of examinations, although isolating for students, tests are important for gauging how well the students are doing, how receptive they are to the information, and what language items may have not been received well or overlooked. I have taken many tests in my life and recognize the various types mentioned in this lesson; a placement test, progress and diagnostic tests administered periodically, and lastly a practice test given to advise for the final term examinations. Unlike some teachers, I believe tests to be important, not only to the teacher and school board but, for the students' individually so that they may understand what it is that they are \"supposed\" to know in comparison to what they actually \"do\" know. And with tests, we can target the problem areas and revisit them and if the class as whole seems to get the same questions wrong then those language topics can be retaught in a future lesson.
