The resources offered in this unit will prove very useful to me. I analyzed the content of the materials, and made note of where to find the resources mentioned, specifically bogglesworldesl.com and New Interchange. I appreciate the insight into the pros and cons of not only using a course book but also using it as a point of departure and not adhering to it in the strictest sense. In other words, these are issues that may have come up for me in the future that I had not previously considered. I appreciate being guided as to how to approach the best usage of course books. In this unit the focus is on Modals, Phrasal Verbs and Passive Voice. Modal verbs are words like can, could, would, should, may, might etc. These words are used to express concepts such as obligation, ability, possibility or advice. Phrasal verbs are multi word verbs such as \"this really put me out\" for example. The three types of phrasal verbs are intransitive, transitive separable and transitive inseparable. The unit also takes a look at active and passive voice. The selection of active or passive voice allows the user to put the focus of a sentence where he or she wants.
