There are so many different teaching environments that it is very likely I feel that I will find myself in one of these multicultural special situation classrooms and I am glad that I now have the background knowledge and the confidence to teach a lesson for this group. I do believe one of the keys to learning is that the classroom will be diverse and there are many strengths to learning in that environment since I learned in one similar myself.There is a more detailed explanation of the different types of phonemes in the IPA alphabet in this section. Previously I had only learned this as vowels and consonant, along with double vowels. I also got some insight into the importance of teaching pronunciation. I should not just wait around for students to soak up proper pronunciation like a sponge. I will take advice from the last section and see how I can work IPA practice into my lessons.
