This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I have both re-tested my own knowledge about the difference between present-tense forms, and have been especially reminded of the difference between future tense and present continuous. In addition, this unit helped me think about new activities (since at times there were few offered in the course) for my students when learning present tenses. The task that asked me to identify errors and asked me to explain how I would communicate and engage the student in his/her correction of the error, was very helpful. It continued to ask me to activate my own learning throughout the course: being concise, clear, and student-focused. I will continue to work on my focus on eliciting students' own answers and solid understanding of the grammatical rules, rather than on providing the answers. What I find exciting is the ability to test previously learned vocabulary and knowledge every time students complete an activity and work to correct their mistakes.
