Unit 14 presents a core topic for every teacher who makes first steps in teaching ? materials and books. In my opinion, the main idea of the whole unit is that an integrated approach is a key to success. A teacher should mix up coursebook materials with his or her own additionally created exercises and tasks. Taking the given information into consideration, we also can conclude that authentic materials may be a double-edged sword since they are not level ranged, and a teacher should choose authentic exercises carefully.This unit reviewed past tense verbs. It discussed activities that can be used to reinforce students' understanding and common mistakes made when students encounter these forms. I don't think that presenting the material with formal, linguistic jargon will help make this unit any easier for EFL students. It also surprises me that these test questions are constructed this way. Students will never be asked to answer \"which of the following is a past perfect continuous sentence\", so it is odd to encounter it in this course.
