In order to teach english we should always follow a methodology/technique. There many types of techniques, however is up to each teacher or english institution to decide which method to follow. Generally, I do prefer a methodology that allows students to switch tasks and activities. ESA is a very good technique as it allows students to get interested in the class (engage), cover the language points (study) and practice/use the language (activate). To avoid routine the teacher can always 'patchwork' the ESA stages as long they always start/end with an engage/activate stage such as: engage-activate-activate-study-activate-engage-study-activate. Correcting mistakes/errors is always important in every lesson, however the teacher always needs to leave space for self correction or even allow correction from other students to be made. What's important is allowing the student to finish their ideas or activity before correcting an error/mistake.
