This unit discussed the various types of classes the English teacher may encounter. Classes may vary by age,purpose, amount of students, proficiency level and whether a group is multi or mono lingual. Different strategies and approaches are required in differing environments. Teaching children who may pick up the language faster than adults but also have shorter attention spans and need to be motivated by the activities rather than just a desire to learn, will be different than teaching adults who might be motivated but not as able to pick up a second language as easily. Teaching a business English class will obviously involve specific vocabulary that would be unnecessary in a general class. There are many different factors to consider in lesson planning, home work and teacher demeanor (your more likely to be a little more playful with children than lawyers)n to make sure your particular students are getting the most out of your class.
