Unit 9 describes the doâ€™s and donâ€™ts for preparing lesson plans. I like how this unit emphasized that our lessons need to be flexible in nature, focused on both student and teacher goals/objectives, and should contain a variety of activities to help the students practice specific points of English grammar. This lesson was very informative because I myself am one to make very scripted and rigid lesson plans, which most often end up not being 100% followed. This is an area I know I need to improve in as a teacher, and it was nice to see examples and suggestions on how I can make my lessons more smooth and flexible. I also like how this unit shared that we as teachers need to be prepared for everything that may occur during the lesson, and suggested ways on how we can better prepare ourselves to teach (making sure all materials are ready and function properly, arrive early to set up, greet students to help brake the ice, etc.).
