Conditionals and reported speech are concepts that seem complicated, and we have only scratched the surface. I realize how important it is in having such a firm grip on the tenses, as they are only elaborated on as each grammar lesson progresses. I found the explanations for the conditional forms lacking, compared to prior units where there were more examples given for each case. However, the direct speech to reported speech table was of utmost help , and with some aid of prior notes I was able to grasp the general rules for creating reported speech phrases. The worksheet at the end of the unit was time consuming, but necessary in digesting this information and allowing it to be worked out. I particularly enjoyed task 5, in which the sentences must be changed based on the time expression. Naturally, with practice, I look forward to having a solid understanding and working knowledge of conditionals and reported speech.
