This section has many good techniques for managing a class depending on the many variables that may be faced such as size, diversity, level of English, age etc. From simple actions of the teacher such as providing eye contact, gestures, voice control and using the students' names throughout the class, these techniques can go a long way to establishing rapport with the students, maintaining discipline and providing a helpful environment to learn. The classroom arrangement and grouping are also important factors and may be highly determined by class size and individual personalities and cultures. Providing instructions, writing on a board and providing materials/demonstrations are an essential part of nearly every class, and will help to reduce teacher talk time and increase the comprehension of the students. Also, implementing methods that help increase student comfort level and talk time will be beneficial in the long run.
