This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is about the two productive skills: speaking and writing. Speaking activities are divided into two main groups. The first group, accuracy activities, are more controlled and are focused on producing correct language. The second group, fluency activities, are more focused on allowing students to be creative and produce language more freely. This unit also covers ways to encourage speaking between students, such as through pair work and giving students time to think about what they are going to say so that they are more confident in their language. The other productive skill, writing, is one that is often relegated to homework as it is hard to use as an activity in the classroom, but this unit gives ideas for pair or group creative writing, such as writing a dialogue to go with a set of pictures. The unit also covers games, which can help raise students' interest in the classroom.
