In this unit we have discussed the variety of special groups that one might find themselves teaching. I have learned many valuable thing when teaching new beginners, children, business groups and multilingual versus monolingual students. No matter who the students are, we should always encourage speaking in English only, not relying on their mother tongue. We also need to be aware of our clients, in order to best suit their needs in what we are covering in our teaching.Classroom management must to take into account different factors: environmental, personal (of the teacher and her/his communication style), and class composition (the students, their age, their numbers, etc). Different teaching activities require the teacher to manage the class differently. An efficient teacher should establish a rapport and trust, maintain discipline and employ several tactics in order to maximise Students Talk Time and allow them to learn comfortably.
