In this lesson we looked at things that may come about on the first lesson. 1st lesson is obviously one of the most important because here you are establishing a first rapport this the class. Showing that you have control of the class, but can teach and learn in an enjoyable environment. Also looked at troubleshooting basically things a teacher should not do. Mainly not making the student feel uncomfortable or scared is the main objective. When a student feels comfortable that is the best learning environment.This unit focuses on the methodologies used in EFL teaching that try to imitate L1 learning. Its emphasis is on the Engage, Study, Activate methodology (ESA) and its variations (Straight Arrow, Boomerang and Patchwork). Engage's aim is to allow as much speaking as possible for the students, while Study allows for controlled practice and Activate lets students produce the language in a more creative way. Lastly the unit explains the need for feedback and how a teacher should proceed towards correcting students.
