This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The unit is about the receptive skills, listening and reading. We see that listening and reading do not involve only our senses but also and especially our minds to be able to understand the words we hear or read, we understand the differences between the accents and the origin of the speaker. We have also seen how to introduce any text to our future students and how important is to explain them before the reading about unknown or new words.I had learned a brief overview of different mythologies of teaching English. As stated in an earlier response, I feel that the entire course is focused on non-American English framework. Some of the sentence structures in the tests are not formatted in an American English setting. The end result of this causes confusion and lower scores due to the different English format. I would have liked it to be formatted in an American English setting.
