This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
There is no doubt that pronunciation and phonology are very challenging for both teachers and students. The challenge may be smoother for native speakers but still this unit requires extra practice before attempting to teach. It is difficult but sure it can be tought through theories and some techniques. This unit was very helpful to understand and learn how to read the phonemic symbols finially. I believe if the teacher takes this challenging subject as another step forward in his/her teaching experience, the students will have a complete understanding of the language. Having the perfect accent really does not matter at the end, yet I believe it is less likely to achieve this goal if the student does not live in an English spoken country. What matters is doing it somehow correct and at the best of our abilities to be able to make sentences with full feelings and emotions.
