Lesson 13 talks about pronunciation and phonology. In this lesson i learn about the different variations and patterns of the English language. I learn about Intonation which is the variation in volume and pitch within a sentence. Using the rise/fall pattern of English is very normal but when the teacher uses the fall/rise intonation pattern, it indicates that the speaker wants his/her audiencce to respond in some way. Lastly, I learn about the teaching techniques for pronunciation which are: modeling sounds using your own mouth, tongue twisters and mouth diagrams. This unit was a little bit more confusing as there were seven tenses to figure out, and a few of them were fairly similar. It seems that future tenses are used a lot when making plans, or predictions, which makes sense and teaching this would involve a lot of planning, scheduling and diary writing type activities and then of course, going over to make sure the correct tenses are used. I'm finding it very useful to identify key words in the sentence that link it to the type of tense, and from there, once I read the full sentence I can understand why it is that one.
