While I would have to refer to the conditional charts to remember them, I don't feel it is necessary to commit them to memory. The most important part of this lesson was the section on Direct and Reported Speech. This is so important for students because being able to report something directly told and not change the meaning is critical. It blends grammar with reading comprehension. This is a challenge for ESL students as well as native english speaking individuals.Modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice are topics of the unit 18. The most difficult part was the phrasal verbs. I didn't find a good explanation how to distinguish separable from inseparable transitive phrasal verbs. Modal verbs aren't easy questions too. A good teacher should explain well about differences between them, and how the use of modal verbs can change the meaning of the main verb. In the passive voice the passive formation is must for remembering by students.
