This unit allowed me to view my experiences in second language acquisition through the pedagogical eyes of TESOL. Most of my experience in leaning mandarin chinese has been via the grammar-lexical method. I have always assumed that it i the only way to acquire a language but this course has taught me that there are other ways. Indeed the size of my second language classes has limited my teachers' ability to provide role playing games or word games which are suited to smaller groups. I hope that should I become a language teacher, I will not let such constraints limi me from providing such a fertile learning environment. In deed, the many games suggested here are an inspiration to me.
