This unit discussed troubleshooting. A short lesson, the issues dealt with were handling the first class, working with students at different levels, avoiding using the native language, and trouble with listening. When teachers don't know the students, they need to work hard at establishing rapport and creating an environment where the students want to learn. They also need to discern what activities are best for overcoming the various obstacles to learning.OK, this was tricky. The video was not very helpful. It was quite dull. I drank a lot of water. I have a grasp of the different methodologies of teaching. Talking to my friend who teach should be a lot less dull. I hope. Also, back in the 80's when I was in junior high trying to learn French, it was awful. I realize now why I had such a hard time with it. I was terrified of speaking in front of the class. I had no idea what I was doing an was mocked for it.
