I particularly enjoyed this unit because it allowed me to visualize an effective and ineffective delivery of the ESA technique. I wondered though, if the Engage phase wasn't a bit lengthy. Even though it was a creative way to elicit the concept of can and can't brin modal auxiliary verbs, I wonder if the same result could have been achieved with less time. Other than that, I clearly saw how a positive, creative and prepared teacher can be effective in teaching ESL students.This unit mainly talks about the classroom management. It tells the benefits of using eye contact, gesture and the voice in a class. Eg, eye contact can convey messages; good use of gestures reduce TTT. The ways of grouping students are very useful to me. There is no best way. A teacher needs to vary different arrangements accordingly.Using simple language, being consistent, using visual clues, and checking the instructions are some important rules when giving instructions.
