The examples of reading and listening was very helpful. It helps give ideas on each phase for ESA. I think teaching these two receptive skills is quite difficult. I have not seen this type of teaching because both my kids are very young. I would definitely apply this method to older adults at the intermediate level. The student would have a better grasp of the vocabulary, writing structure, and a basic foundation of listening. Of course the teacher would have to still understand the students interest but having an older audience would seem easier to me.As the final unit I found it helpful with troubleshooting in many different classroom situations as a large class would be extremely daunting for a inexperienced teacher as you would feel quite threatened by the amount of students. But as I have noted in this unit their are many techniques that can be used for example pair work and group work is a great tool in keeping the control of the class but still allowing the language point to be exercised. The main point for most of the classrooms is to give clear and precise instructions to your students at all times.
