This unit was particularly useful , as it presented lots of examples of how to plan a lesson and what teaching themes to use. I have learned about the effectiveness of songs and chants , especially when dealing with very young learners who enjoy body movement . When using games in the classroom , teachers should first think about the teaching point and then what game to play. Using stories in the classroom is useful for developing all four skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening . Stories are excellent vocabulary builders and are great with any age group. To stimulate both parts of the brain at the same time, it is good to use arts and crafts in the classroom using seasons, occasional days and local festivals . Drama and movement should also be incorporated in the classroom , as miming, movement, role play and acting, depending on age of students.
