This unit focuses on speaking and writing, the two production-based skills of language. While a lot of this information had been covered earlier in the units, it was good to get a refresher with the new knowledge I have from working through the course. In particular, I was questioning the recommendation to not correct students during the activate phase of the course, but through the explanation in this section that the activate phase is for authentic production and fluency, not necessarily for accuracy, I now understand the benefit of sitting back and letting students experiment with language. I also find it interesting that many teachers tend to leave written work for homework, which likely students will not spend much time on, and I believe that the recommendation to include writing activities in your curriculum is extremely useful and important.
