This unit discussed modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. It went over how modals add meaning to the main verb and the ways they are used. It also went over the difference between active and passive voice. Following that, it went over clauses and defining and not defining types. I found the phrasal verbs section to be the most confusing, and I think it mentioned students having trouble with them as well. I learned from ever section of this particular unit. Identifying the different parts of the sentence, whether it be the object phrase, object pronoun, or particle, is key.Even though, as a teacher, I have engaged in most of these activities and methodologies, I initially felt a bit overwhelmed by Unit 3 due to the large amount of concepts and examples. However, on reflection the material is logical, and I can put it into the context of my teaching experiences. One thing that was not addressed in the unit was the issue of homework, which for me generally has been checked (if possible, by student pairs) at the beginning of classes (which also serves as a review). I have not watched the video for this unit yet, but am looking forward to doing so.
