This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit dealt with potential hurdles and difficulties we may encounter as teachers. It clearly lays out some tips for conducting a successful first lesson and gives examples of \"warmers\" or ice-breaker activities to get the students more comfortable with each other and establish a rapport with the teacher. The section where it addressed the problem was especially helpful because I think this is an extremely common problem that many teachers will encounter due to budgeting difficulties.Unit 16 takes a close look at the different forms of conditional sentences and how to teach them and covers the differences between direct and reported speech. This unit helped me to recognize that conditionals aren?t just ?scientific formulas?, but rather natural parts of the language, which help us to talk about hopes, wishes, dreams, regrets and consequences. The interesting ideas for teaching conditionals can really help to convince students that learning conditionals can be fun.
