Certain types of considerations should be kept in mind when teaching certain groups. Absolute beginners having no exposure to English at all would respond differently to a basic grammar lesson when compared to those needing English in a business setting. Catering the lesson to the group is important as it keeps their interest and motivation high. When dealing younger children being able to hold their attention and curiosity is also key as they respond differently than how adults would. While there are merits to teaching one on one, such as knowing the individual has high motivation to learn, there are certain skills and lessons that will be missed from a group dynamic interaction. For students that are learning English for a purpose, the most important thing is finding out the student's needs and tailoring the lessons to fulfill it.
