I think what defines a teacher to be a good teacher is when they know how to manage a class really well. Often times I encounter classes that is in orderly rows and the teacher dominate the class. Learning when is an appropriate time to group students is important to allow students to interact with each other and when to bring their focus to the teacher. There are a lot of factors why students may cause behavior problems. A good teacher should know when to balance authority and provide a friendly atmosphere. And when a problem occur, I learned that establishing rapport with students and not letting personal feelings influence treatment to students is very important to help prevent problems. Overall, I think classroom management can affect how much students absorb knowledge through a teacher's effectiveness to handle any situations.
