This unit was helpful for attaining an understanding of the positive and negatives of using a course book. It is certainly good to know that there are such materials which can assist and help keep track of a syllabus. However, a good point was brought up about varying the material in order to keep things interesting for the students.
Furthermore, I enjoyed having another re-cap on the ESA structure in the test. I have found re-visiting about the structure of ESA useful because it helps to keep the information fresh. I feel that knowing what type of activity and what type of student participation is required for each phase, and what topic would use what type of structure to be the core element of the course. Therefore, having a refresher is very helpful to gain a better overall understanding as I go through the other units.
