This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I did not realize that there were so many different types of tests. I now think back to my childhood and realize that we did take many practice tests due to the number of external exams that were given by the state. I remember not enjoying them, and agree that some tests judge a student's memory and not actual knowledge. I like the idea of giving tutorials, tests, and evaluations by students throughout the course. Learning should be fun and some students aren't able to rise to the pressure that test taking can cause. I also found it interesting that there are specific exams tailored to business and that Scotland has it's own education system. I think that progress tests are one of the simplest ways to judge a student's ability, especially if the teacher can make them fun or interactive, especially when speech is involved.
