This unit covered the receptive skills needed in order to learn a new language. In this unit I learned that the topics you pick will often determine how receptive students are to the lesson. I learned that it is very important to make a lesson interesting and fun to the student. The lesson also talked about how we listen and read for different reasons such as for enjoyment or for a purpose. Also the ways we read are different as well such as skimming or scanning.classroom Management is a teaching skill achieved from numerous techniques that instill confidence in the teacher and discipline in the classroom. Such skills include: good eye contact with the students, appropriate tonality, channeling pair work or group work to encourage classroom communication, administering effective instructions, proportioning talk time between teacher and student, understanding problematical behavior and how to cope with it plus a few more.
