This unit focused a lot more on the details of attempting to teach vocabulary, grammar, and usage. While previous lessons had focused on general theory and methods, this one focused more on actual implementation, building off of the lessons presented prior.
The material is getting gradually more complex and difficult to retain as it moves towards ideas that are less-and-less intuitive to me. This is a good thing, not a complaint. It is forcing me to study the material much more closely.The content of this unit was heavily geared towards the activities that are suitable to enhance learning in the engage, study, and activation stages. Also, the factors that would make a certain vocabulary word easy to grasp for a foreign speaker such as the word's similarity to it's equivalent in the native language were discussed. Additionally, the main points to present to students when providing them with a fresh vocabulary word such as it's meaning, usage, and spelling were addressed.
