The unit covers receptive skills which are reading and writing. Both of the skills are equally important in the English language. In the unit I learnt that there are two reasons why a person read, it could be to read for a purpose where you want to achieve something by reading a certain text and the second one is reading for entertainment purposes such as reading your favorite magazine. Listening is equally important as reading although when it comes to listening you only have one chance to hear something. I have learnt that when you are teaching receptive skills the text you bring to the lesson must be one that can interest the students.
