In this lesson I learned a lot about phonetic script and how it can help with pronouncing words in the English language. I also learned the importance of inotation of sentences and the different stresses we put on syllables in each word. Gesturing and using a white board/chalk board to write inotations of a sentence and pointing out the stress of a word are great ways of showing the class the importance of phonetics. As a native English speaker, I wasn't aware of how often i linked my words or changed sounds (t-d). This unit was helpful in showing me how to notice the differences in my own speech and use this knowledge to teach it as a foreign language.
