Before this unit I never really thought about having to choose which vocabulary words to teach and why some are a better option over others. This unit discussed the importance vocabulary as well as structure. The ESA method discussed the possible ways and formats that can be used to teach students new words and word structures. Language function was not something I had often thought of before and this lesson has provided me with ways in which I can teach my students effectively. This unit reminded me that teaching English is about more than just the words. It is about the structure and information that comes with the words that will allow for a student to become better equipped in English.
