This unit takes a look at the some of the various types of classrooms settings and students a language teacher might encounter in the real world. Given that different types of groups will have different needs requiring different teaching approaches the unit offers different ideas and suggestions for teaching in various situations.
One type of learner discussed is the absolute beginner. This student is identified as a student who has little or no exposure to the new language. Obviously this student would require a different approach from a business learner who has some English skills but is interested in writing clear, concise business correspondence.
