The purpose of this unit is to observe two different teaching practices. The first video was a lesson with a teacher with good intent, but poor process. The second video was to present a teacher with good intent and good process. In the first video, the teacher expected the students to inherently understand the concept without ever breaking it down for them. It had a \"me vs. them\" mentality to it, even though the teacher was not mean. This made students nervous to participate. The second video showed a teacher who engaged students by meeting them where they were at and engaging them in conversation and activities that would move them forward in their learning. There was no \"shame\" tactic used in the second video, and the students were able to actively participate in this lesson.
