This unit reviewed the four aspects of the present tense. Since I am a native speaker, I found that the best way to retain the purposes/uses/activities for each tense was to simply focus on remembering the construction. For example, as long as I recall that the Present Perfect tense is constructed by adding 'have/has' to the Past Participle, then it is very easy for me to identify how to use the Present Perfect tense as well as activities for practicing it. Unfortately, this approach will not work when EXPLAINING the use of tenses to my students since they cannot rely on what 'sounds right' the way I can. The next challenge for me is to identify how to best explain the use of tenses to my students.
