Grammar is made up of modal auxiliary verbs, passive voice, phrasal all verbs and relative clauses. Modal auxiliary verbs are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verb, they are used to express differing degrees of formality and don't change in form according to person. Passive voice is broken down into two voices the active and passive, active voice focuses on the agent and the subject, in the passive voice the objective of the passive verb becomes the subject of the passive verb, the agent int he passive voice becomes less important. Independent, dependant and relative clauses are the three categories of clauses. A clause is a group of words containing a subject and a verb. phrasal verbs consist of a verb plus one of two particles which operate as one item. There are three types of phrasal verbs, intransitive, transitive separable and transitive inseparable.
