This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit concentrated on the potential problems in the classroom and how to solve them. It was especially helpful as a last unit because being prepared is important to running a successful class. Problems such as what to do on the first day of class and how to organize a large were discussed and helpful in particular because the first class is vital to setting up a comfortable environment for students to learn and participate in so I was interested to learn things like the activities to build rapport. Organizing large classes was also of particular interest to me as the classes I'm currently involved in range from 20 students to 40 students and dealing in the larger classes of 40 can be challenging so learning techniques to better organize the class to allow more student participation is helpful.
