The current unit covered the variety of conditional sentences, the typical errors and mistakes students make with these conditionals, and various relevant teaching ideas. In addition, direct versus reported speech was discussed, focusing on the changes in verb tenses and pronouns. In reading this unit, I saw the further nuances of the English language and developed a greater appreciation of the myriad ways that students might have difficulty in acquiring this particular aspect of the language. As in other units, I found the teaching ideas especially helpful -- in particular, for teaching reported speech, such as the use of media interviews.
