This unit covers the roles of the teacher, learner's arrangement, learning environment, the appropriate lesson for teaching productive skills and receptive skills, and the appropriate teaching methods.
Personally, I think the role of teachers is usually mixed. We need to adopt the role as we see fit.
WE also need to be aware of the teaching arrangement as the lesson materials would differ from a one-to-one scenario than a group class. Teaching receptive skills and productive skills in Business English would be different than the conventional English course. Business English would simulate work environment, therefore, using emails, meeting, telephoning or presentations would be more suitable for their working needs.
Again, the teaching methods would also need to adapt accordingly to the clients' need, we as a teacher need to figure out the best way to tailor our course by using a mixed of these teaching methods as per requested by our client whether to strengthen their weakness or enhance their strengths.
