This unit has been extremely informative and provided a variety of methodologies that can and should be used when teaching English. I think that it was particularly interesting to understand what type of methodologies are appropriate for different circumstances and each of their advantages and disadvantages. I learned about ESA and received an excellent guideline of how these three phases can be applied and arranged in order to create a productive and engaging lesson. I thought it was also very useful to understand the best ways in which students can be corrected and given feedback. I believe that it is extremely important for teachers to be more educated on how feedback and correction should be applied in a way that is constructive and can help the student progress rather than detrimental to their confidence. My favourite part of this unit was how it explained that one of the most important things a teacher can do for an English learner is to ensure that they are confident, comfortable and engaged.
