Thanks to this unit I have learnt more about the modal/phrasal verbs (that sometimes are source of much confusion for non-native English speakers) and the passive voice. The modals \"may\" and \"can\", for example, have similar meaning but are used in different contexts: \"may\" is more polite and formal than \"can\". At the same time I have learnt the correct form of the passive voice in all tenses and how the phrasal verbs (verbs plus one or two particles) are used: intransitive phrasal verbs cannot be followed by a direct object, in the transitive separable phrasal verbs an object pronoun can come only between the verb and the particle (whereas an object noun can come either between the verb and the particle or after the particle) and the transitive inseparable phrasal verbs are the ones where the object phrase or object pronoun both come after the particle.
