It was interesting to learn about evaluation and testing skills. This basically refer to the ways of assessing a student language level. They include tutorials, evaluation by the students, and tests. Tutorials are done in the whole group. It is recommended that tutorials be done during the last 10 minutes at the end of the lesson, or week. Evaluation is a useful and is done by asking the students to evaluate their course by means of questionnaire or guide discussion. The results of the survey are used to discuss future lessons considered in the light of student's comments. Students are given tests at different stages in a course. They are as follows:- Placement at the beginning, progress tests, used periodically to measure what language has been remembered or acquired and what language has been forgotten. Diagnostic tests like placement test are given at the start of the course. Practice tests are given in the format and the structure of the external examination that they are being given in preparation for. Some of the external exams are TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC. Ther is also Cambridge assessment, these are exams world's leading range of certificates for learners of English such as KET, PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE. I also learned about exams for skills such as for life such as ESOL and business English (BEC and BULATS).
