Coursebooks And Materials/worksheets And Workcards - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT TEFL-TESOL Courses

Next, a couple of issues surrounding the use of worksheets and workcards. Firstly, these types of materials can either be bought or they could be made by yourself. Very often many of the book series that we use will have workcards in their teacher resource book. Worksheets and workcards are very useful because they can act as a prompt to introduce an activity or topic. They can also be used for role plays and one of the things you need to be aware of when making worksheets and workcards yourself is that you need to make them durable. So whenever you create a workcard, if you put it on some hard backing and then put it inside some cellophane or covered plastic just to make them durable then those types of workcards and worksheets can last for years. So examples of worksheets and...  [Read more]

Pronunciation And Phonology/consonants And Vowels - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ ITTT TEFL-TESOL Courses

The next thing we should look at is how our consonants are arranged for the top two rows we have P and F at the left side of our chart and G and J at the right side of our chart. They're arranged this way because if we analyze the way we speak we're using the front of our mouth to use these sounds as in ?p? and ?f? and I'm using my lips and my teeth to produce those sounds and as we move to the right on the chart slowly but surely we're making those sounds it towards the back of our mouth. We can use the examples of ?g?. The sound ?g? is produced further back in our mouth than ?p?. The next thing we'll notice about our chart is that some of our symbols are shaded. Notice that none of the symbols in the vowel sections are shaded but only a few are in the consonant section. The...  [Read more]

This video is part of our video series on "Evaluation and Testing of Students". In this video, we look at the diagnostic and progress test. TESOL Spain - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ TESOL Jobs In Spain

There is such a tremendous amount of marked regional diversity in Spain that one is almost dealing with a mini continent. Life on the costas - Spain’s huge coastline - differs greatly from that in the big cities, which in turn differs from life in the thousands of picturesque rural villages, which is again different from the ski slopes of Andora or Granada. Dispirit locations and circumstances are united in a profound love of life, sometimes combined with a slight disdain for work. Spaniards work to live, they do not live to work. Hence it is very easy to get swept up in a seemingly constant round of fiestas and festivals, music and dancing - eating well and drinking well being all part of pursuing the good life in the best of all possible worlds. Despite the fact that practically...  [Read more]

TTT and STT - ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ Teacher Talking Time and Student Talking Time - TESOL Glossary

These terms are commonly used in English language teaching to refer to periods during a lesson where the class is either teacher centred or student centred, as well as the relative importance of each situation. Times during the lesson where the teacher is the only person talking, such as when presenting vocabulary or grammar structures, are often referred to as ‘teacher talking time’. In contrast, sections of the lesson where the students are the ones doing the talking, such as when practising new language they have learnt in the lesson, are often referred to as ‘student talking time’. The relative importance of these two situations is a source of some debate in English language teaching, however, modern methodologies often lean towards more STT, providing this time is spent in a...  [Read more]

All 5 of the answers elicit the wanted responses. I can only imagine that the teacher in using the time to ask a question is perhaps taking the STT away from the student? On the topic of classroom arrangements, I am surprised that Nationality would figure in this equation at all since I concur that the students are there to learn a language other than their own. Mixing students up with disregard to Nationalities act more as a bonding adhesive and bridge to...  [Read more]

I believe everyone has had a teacher who seems like they don't want to be there, and it is true that your attitude as a teacher has a major effect on the students' attitudes and motivation. Not only does the second lesson engage the students more with fun activities and useful, interconnected debates, but the teacher actually interacts with his classroom and encourages them to...  [Read more]

I also really liked to learn how to teach a language function in a fun and practical way. It was very interesting to see the difference between what the students need to know and what the teacher knows, because sometimes teachers want to teach everything they know at once, and the students end up learning nothing. In this unit, the focus is on how...  [Read more]

It's also a good reminder to allow the student to self-correct, or for a classmate to be given time to be able to correct a fellow student rather than the teacher jumping in to correct a student and taking away from the student's learning to self-correct and also potentially causing the student to feel needlessly frustrated by being corrected too often by the teacher.I learned so many new things in this...  [Read more]
